Policies
Our corporate social responsibility is one of our focus areas. On land as well as at sea, we focus on improving the conditions for our employees and take actions to minimize the environmental impact of the fleet.
For our land based staff our corporate social responsibility means that we initiate actions to create a healthy and inspirational work environment, where the employees thrive and personal development is a top priority.
For the environment our corporate social responsibility also means that we focus on reduction of CO2 emissions and keeping the ships in good condition. Our subsidiary Combi Lift is ISO certified (9001, 14001, 18001) covering both the office and the Combi Lift fleet.

Actions
The Group conducts workplace evaluations and initiates the necessary improvements in connection herewith. Additionally, the Group aldo holds quarterly safety meetings and regular performance reviews, encourages further education and training for the employees.
The Combi Lift ISO manuals are continually adjusted and improved in comp0liance with current legislation and instructions. We have annual internal and external audits.
The fleet is kept in the best possible condition and when the ships are docked the cooling systems are replaced with more environmentally friendly systems, which are non ozone degradable. Furthermore, we continually improve and optimize the existing systems and standards.

Results
The ships are regularly audited for intern ISM and ISPS, which contribute to a higher standard. In 2010, M/V Star Bird was externally audited due to flag change. This resulted in one ISM non conformance and two observations. In connection with the audit we also had Flag State Control, resulting in six remarks.

The office was audited by Germanischer Lloyd with no remarks.
The result of the workplace evaluation was predominantly positive.

Expectations
We expect to obtain the ISO certifications for J. Poulsen Shipping A/S in 2011 and to continue improving the developed quality standards.
Furthermore, we expect to further reduce the CO2 emissions from the ships.
In order to maintain the good working environment and our employees, we will also continue to focus on and improve the conditions within the Group.
