J. Poulsen Shipping was established in 1980 by Finn J. Poulsen in order to specialize in ocean transportation of project, heavy lift and IMO cargoes. Since its establishment the company has earned a worldwide reputation as a safe, reliable and innovative provider within these segments, a reputation the company has been able to maintain through our employees with dedication, skills and professionalism.

Before the establishment of J. Poulsen Shipping, Finn J. Poulsen worked for shipping companies in Aalborg, Copenhagen, London and Hamburg, from where he returned to Denmark in 1972 to work in his  father’s company Shipbrokers J. Poulsen, a company which was founded by Finn J. Poulsen’s grandfather Johannes Poulsen in 1930.

The next generation of Poulsen’s are  already active in the company, Anders Poulsen joined the company 1997 after having gathered experience at various shipping companies in Copenhagen and Hamburg. In 2000 Anders Poulsen was appointed Chief Operating Officer.

Peter F. Poulsen joined the company in 1999 after having worked for various shipping companies in Houston, Copenhagen and Hamburg. In 2007 Peter F. Poulsen was appointed Sales & Marketing manager.

The ownership of J. Poulsen Shipping is today shared between Finn, Anders and Peter Poulsen.

We are therefore always on the lookout for new opportunities, contacts and markets, which will improve the possibility of shipping goods faster and more securely around the world. This enables us to service our clients even better tomorrow than we did yesterday.
